TIZO Mineral Sunscreen Review

With the amount of SPF products that come into our office we’re constantly having to narrow down our focus on what brands or ingredients we feature. As trending with beauty editors and bloggers alike, our intrigue is targeted to physical blocks rather than chemical sunscreens. They just seem safer for our skin and the environment. Throw in a universal tint and we’ve got ourselves a double duty beauty find that we must share with you like today’s featured brand TIZO.

TIZO was created by a dermatologist who merged both Titanium and Zinc Oxide into a light-weight, water-resistant physical block that simply feels good on your skin. If you’re thinking sunscreen is too thick or greasy, you haven’t met TIZO. Here’s my review on the brand and remember this is coming from a beauty expert who holds a pretty high standard to product claims…

TIZO3®

FACIAL MINERAL SUNSCREEN TINTED SPF 40

is available in tinted (TIZO3) and non-tinted (TIZO2) variations and are free of oil, preservatives, parabens and gluten. The Facial Primer both tinted and non-tinted are perfect for men and women. The finish is matte and creates a blur effect that I’ll take any day.

TIZO®

ULTRA ZINC BODY AND FACE SUNSCREEN NON-TINTED SPF 40

TIZO® Ultra Zinc Body & Face Sunscreen comes in a non-tinted and tinted mineral dispension suitable for all skin types and tones. Multiple particle sizes virtually vanish on even the darkest skin tones! It contains moisturizing ingredients for an elegant dewy finish. Soothing, calming 20% zinc oxide is perfect post procedure.

TIZO®

LIP PROTECTION TINTED SPF 45

TIZO® Tinted Lip Protection is the ultimate lip protection without the use of chemical sunscreen lters. Using only Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide, TIZO® Tinted Lip Protection refects the sun away from one of the most sensitive areas, the lips. At SPF 45, TIZO® Tinted Lip Protection is one ofthe most protective lip products available while having a gentle kiwi lime, and ginger favor.

Chemical vs Physical

Chemical sunscreens are absorbed by your skin and allow the sun to penetrate into your body in order for the chemicals to screen or repel the harmful rays. These sunscreens are getting a lot of press right now and are even banned in some countries because the chemicals are actually disrupting our Eco-system in reefs and  ocean coral.

Physical sunblock doesn’t get absorbed by the skin and actually sits on top of skin and reflects rays and physically blocks them from entering skin. When I’m reviewing products I don’t even consider chemical brands any longer since blocks are far superior especially when using on your face.
