It’s wedding time, and if you’re a bride you pretty much should want to look your best. Since I LOVE ❤️ all things beauty (especially makeup), I’m sharing some of the tips that I give brides pre-wedding to make sure all is glam on the big day!
TIP 1: Leave the heavy lifting to the pros:
If you’re not versed in long-wear application and the ability to create a makeup that looks good in all forms of media (black and white photography, video, etc) hire a skilled makeup artist. One that specializes in bridal beauty to boot. A high-fashion makeup artist might not be the best bet for long-wear liner application. Make sure to have a trial at least one month before the wedding and take notes and photos.
Tanning: Looking for a spray tan? Read the reviews and get a trial well before the big day. Once you find the perfect bronzing expert, book for 3 days before your wedding. Any mishaps will soften up their intensity and skin should only look glowing. Nothing at all too dark or TAN MOM.
Extensions: Leave it to the pros whether it be lashes or your precious mane. Again, know the expert way in advance before you walk down the aisle.
TIP 2:If you’ve got 30 days you have time for some massive lash discovery. Lash extensions are still popular among some women but for big events, many women would rather go natural and add a soft strip or a hint of individuals. Extensions collect powder fro shadows and other makeup, and unless properly cleaned can look dusty in photographs. RapidLash has always been my go-to for brides. TIP 3: I’ve always been a “less is best” artist when it comes to foundation on your wedding day. Make sure you discuss the texture and shade of your base with your artist during the trial. Use a super lightweight primer only if you HAVE to, or find a water gel or hydration product that creates a perfect canvas for makeup without looking like a shell or a layer. TIP 4:We told you to leave the hair up to the pro, but that doesn’t mean you can save money on buying your own hair. Most women aren’t born with thick, long manes, so they may want to add length and volume for their big day. Hair extensions can be a massive expense but there are ways to save money and MAYVENN is shaking up the game. TIP 5:Adding that shimmer or bronzer to your collar bone before walking down the aisle? Here’s a little make-up artist secret for a long-wear glow: Use a sheer spray sunscreen as a base and dust a powder rather than using a glow lotion. Nothing will leak down on your dress.
