I hit the super-hip city of Portland for one more beauty segment to wrap up 2018. It’s been a year since I visited my friends at AMNW and honestly, that’s way too long. This city and people are incredible, hipster-chic and still super chill. I stayed at the new hotel hot-spot Jupiter Next– really thin walls my friends but a bargain on Hotel Tonight App. Instead of presenting a holiday gift-giving segment, my producer Tammy asked for more of a roundup on my favorite beauty picks of 2018. How many times did you hear the word hyaluronic in 2018? In my line of work it kissed my ears multiple times daily. Can we agree it takes the prize for the biggest beauty buzz word of the year? HA (as the pros say it) has been around for as long as humans have- in fact, it’s in our bodies naturally. Adding a bit more than your body’s currently producing in the form of injectable filler, or topically keeps our skin looking plump and hydrated, however my darlings not all HA’s are the same. Some are super sticky and other’s are such a fat molecule they just sit atop skin. In 2018 we saw a trend to keep hyaluronic lightweight and not just for the face!
